Gujarat Titans crushed Rajasthan Royals by 58 runs in Ahmedabad to register their fourth win of IPL 2025. The match, played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on 9 April, saw a clinical performance from Gujarat with both bat and ball.
Gujarat bat first, Sudharsan shines
After being put into bat, Gujarat Titans got off to a strong start. Sai Sudharsan anchored the innings with a fluent 82 off 48 balls. He struck timely boundaries and rotated the strike with ease. His innings laid the foundation for a massive total.
Shubman Gill and Matthew Wade chipped in with quick runs in the powerplay. Later, Rashid Khan added the finishing touches with a fiery cameo. Gujarat ended their innings at 217/6 in 20 overs — their highest total this season.
Royals struggle under pressure
Rajasthan Royals, in reply, never looked settled. Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal departed early. Sanju Samson tried to build momentum but fell to Mohit Sharma, who finished with crucial breakthroughs.
Rajasthan’s middle order collapsed under scoreboard pressure. The chase fizzled out quickly as they were bowled out for 159 in 18.2 overs.
Gujarat bowlers seal the deal
Mohit Sharma and Noor Ahmad were the standout bowlers for Gujarat. Both picked up key wickets at regular intervals. Rashid Khan also kept things tight in the middle overs, applying pressure through dot balls.
The Titans’ bowling attack exploited the slowness of the pitch perfectly, ensuring Rajasthan never came close to the target.
Points table and player of the match
With this win, Gujarat Titans moved to the top of the IPL 2025 points table. Sai Sudharsan was named Player of the Match for his impressive knock.
Gujarat now look like serious contenders this season, showing strong performances with both bat and ball.
