India Yamaha Motor (IYM) has launched the country’s first-ever hybrid motorcycle in the 150cc segment, the 2025 FZ-S Fi Hybrid, priced at INR 1,44,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The motorcycle boasts a refined, sophisticated design while integrating cutting-edge hybrid technology for enhanced efficiency and performance.

Enhanced design and aerodynamic appeal
The new FZ-S Fi Hybrid maintains the aggressive styling of its predecessors while incorporating modern enhancements. Sharper tank covers and integrated front turn signals positioned within the air intake area contribute to a sleeker, more aerodynamic look. The refined handlebar positioning ensures greater comfort, particularly for long rides.
Hybrid power and advanced features
At its core, the motorcycle is powered by a 149cc Blue Core engine, now compliant with OBD-2B standards. Yamaha’s Smart Motor Generator (SMG) and Stop & Start System (SSS) provide battery-assisted acceleration, quieter engine starts, and increased fuel efficiency by automatically shutting off the engine during idle and restarting with a simple clutch action.
Adding to rider convenience, the 4.2-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster offers smartphone integration through the Y-Connect app. Turn-by-turn navigation, powered by Google Maps, provides real-time directions, intersection details, and road names for seamless urban commuting.
Practicality and comfort upgrades
Yamaha has focused on improving ergonomics with repositioned switches for better accessibility, even when wearing gloves. A redesigned horn switch, an airplane-style fuel cap, and a fuel tank attachment enhance practicality. The motorcycle will be available in Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Grey.
Yamaha’s vision for hybrid motorcycling
Speaking at the launch, Itaru Otani, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group, stated, “The FZ brand has played a crucial role in Yamaha’s journey in India, evolving with every generation to meet our customers’ changing expectations. Introducing hybrid technology in this segment not only elevates performance but also reaffirms our commitment to rider-focused innovation.”
With the 2025 FZ-S Fi Hybrid, Yamaha takes a bold step towards the future of motorcycling, blending efficiency, performance, and smart connectivity for an enhanced riding experience.
