Bengaluru witnessed a unique customer engagement initiative as India Yamaha Motor hosted its first Mega Mileage Challenge, highlighting the real-world fuel efficiency of its hybrid two-wheelers. The event focused on the FZ-S Fi Hybrid motorcycle and 125cc Fi Hybrid scooters, including Fascino and RayZR, bringing together customers, families, and enthusiasts for a practical riding experience.
Organised in collaboration with authorised dealerships such as Eye Automobiles, Whitefield Yamaha, Garuda Motorcycles, Vinayak Motors, and Panache Enterprises, the challenge saw enthusiastic participation. The primary aim was to demonstrate the benefits of Yamaha’s hybrid technology, especially the Smart Motor Generator system and Stop and Start System, which are designed to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.
Participants rode on a carefully planned route covering 60 kilometres for motorcycles and 35 kilometres for scooters. The journey began and ended at Samruddhi Convention Center in Bengaluru. The route included a mix of city roads, traffic conditions, and open stretches, allowing riders to assess performance across different riding environments.
The hybrid technology stood out during the challenge. The Smart Motor Generator enabled quieter starts and provided electric-assisted torque for smoother acceleration. Meanwhile, the Stop and Start System ensured that the engine shut down during idle moments, conserving fuel and improving overall mileage. These features not only enhance riding comfort but also contribute to lower fuel costs and a reduced environmental impact.
After completing the ride, all vehicles were refuelled to measure actual fuel consumption. This transparent process helped participants understand the real efficiency of Yamaha’s hybrid models. In addition, Yamaha experts shared practical tips on riding techniques and maintenance practices that can further improve mileage.
To enhance the experience, participants received souvenirs and complimentary bike wash services. Yamaha also conducted a 10-point inspection to ensure safety and optimal performance of the vehicles.
The competition results highlighted impressive fuel efficiency figures. In the scooter category, Sasi Dhar secured the top position with 115.15 kmpl, followed by Durgappa and Gowtham. In the motorcycle segment, Prabhakaran emerged as the winner with 103.7 kmpl, with Rakshith and Ambrish securing the next positions.
The Mega Mileage Challenge successfully demonstrated Yamaha’s focus on innovation, efficiency, and customer engagement. It reinforced the brand’s commitment to delivering practical, eco-friendly mobility solutions for modern riders.
