The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2025, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is a major step in showing Uttar Pradesh’s growing role in global trade. Held at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida from September 25 to 29, the event aims to highlight the state’s industrial, agricultural, and cultural strengths while connecting local businesses with international markets.
The trade show brought together over 2,500 exhibitors and 500 foreign buyers from 80 countries. Russia participated as the partner country, emphasizing UP’s efforts to build strong international trade relations. This platform allows local businesses to showcase their products and explore opportunities in global markets.
UPITS 2025 highlighted the state’s industrial capabilities. Key sectors on display included manufacturing, electronics, IT, and food processing. There were also live demonstrations of AI and fintech solutions, showing how UP is adopting modern technology to support its industries and make them more competitive globally.
At the same time, the event celebrated Uttar Pradesh’s rich cultural heritage. The One District One Product (ODOP) Pavilion displayed traditional crafts like Bhadohi carpets and Firozabad glassware. This initiative not only supports local artisans but also positions UP as a hub for unique handmade products in the international market.
The trade show also focused on boosting the state’s economy. By providing MSMEs and startups with access to international buyers, UPITS 2025 helps increase exports, create jobs, and encourage entrepreneurship. Programs like the CM Yuva scheme have supported thousands of young entrepreneurs, helping them turn ideas into successful businesses.
Bilateral trade relations were another focus of the event. With Russia as the partner country, discussions were held to promote long-term trade partnerships, technology exchange, and investment opportunities. These efforts aim to strengthen UP’s position on the global trade map.
Sustainability was also highlighted. Exhibitors showcased eco-friendly products and sustainable business practices, reflecting a global shift towards responsible and green trade. This shows that UP is taking steps to grow economically without harming the environment.
The event also aligned with national initiatives such as ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat.’ By supporting domestic manufacturing and innovation, UPITS 2025 contributes to the country’s broader goal of becoming self-reliant and competitive in global markets.
Direct interactions between UP businesses and international buyers at the trade show have opened new export opportunities. These connections help local companies reach markets in Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia, reducing dependence on traditional markets and expanding business opportunities.
With hundreds of thousands of visitors and significant business deals, UPITS 2025 has been a success. The event shows that Uttar Pradesh is ready to become a strong player in international trade. By combining industrial growth, cultural heritage, and innovation, UP is building a future where it contributes more significantly to India’s economy and global commerce.
