In a major step towards transforming India’s healthcare ecosystem, the KHG Foundation has announced the selection of four innovative health-tech startups for the 2025–26 cycle. The initiative is designed to make advanced medical technology more affordable, accessible, and widely available, especially beyond urban centres.
The foundation’s latest move focuses on bringing life-saving healthcare solutions closer to the grassroots level. By supporting startups that offer non-invasive, cost-effective, and technology-driven innovations, the programme aims to address critical gaps in India’s healthcare delivery system. The vision is clear: medical advancement should not remain limited to premium hospitals but must reach every corner of the country.
Among the selected startups, Agatsya Software is developing a non-invasive diagnostic device that can help detect medical conditions without the need for surgical procedures. This technology is expected to reduce patient discomfort and improve early diagnosis rates.
Another selected innovator, Remidio Innovative Solutions, is working on low-cost glaucoma detection tools. Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of preventable blindness, and early detection plays a crucial role in treatment. Their solution aims to make screening more accessible, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
FastSense Innovations is focusing on rapid sepsis diagnosis. Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that requires immediate medical attention. Faster detection can significantly improve survival rates, and this innovation is expected to assist healthcare professionals in making quicker decisions.
The fourth startup, Ayu Devices, is introducing a digital stethoscope solution. This technology enables remote auscultation and digital recording of heart and lung sounds, making it particularly useful for telemedicine and remote healthcare delivery.
Speaking on the initiative, eminent scientist Raghunath Mashelkar emphasised the importance of inclusive innovation. He stated that transformative science must serve a larger population and that true progress lies in delivering better solutions at lower costs for more people. His statement underlined the foundation’s commitment to socially impactful innovation.
Healthcare expert Anil Gupta also highlighted the importance of balancing affordability with quality. He noted that these startups demonstrate how technological advancement can be both high-quality and economically viable, making healthcare more equitable.
Under this programme, the KHG Foundation will provide selected startups with technical mentorship, financial support, and market access. This structured support system is expected to help them scale their innovations and integrate into mainstream healthcare delivery networks.
The initiative also aligns closely with India’s broader vision of Digital India, aiming to strengthen healthcare infrastructure through technology. By encouraging innovation in diagnostics and remote care, the foundation hopes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and expand healthcare reach across underserved regions.
