Delhi Airport has proposed a revision in its fee structure, which includes increased charges for international business and first-class passengers and additional fees for flights operating during peak hours. The proposal, submitted for regulatory approval, introduces a variable tariff system to manage congestion and support infrastructure expansion.

As per the proposal, international business and first-class passengers may have to pay ₹570 as a User Development Fee (UDF) per journey, which is twice the ₹280 charge planned for economy and premium economy passengers. Additionally, flights operating during peak hours, defined as 5:00–8:55 AM and 5:00–8:55 PM, will incur higher landing and parking fees. The move is aimed at encouraging airlines to schedule more flights during non-peak hours to distribute air traffic more evenly.
The airport operator justifies the fee adjustments by highlighting the need to fund key infrastructure projects, including the expansion of Terminal 1, the construction of a new runway, and road network improvements. The proposed pricing structure aims to optimise airport capacity while ensuring that economy-class travelers experience minimal cost increases.
If approved, these changes will impact premium-class travelers and flights scheduled during busy hours, leading to higher costs for select passengers. The proposal is currently under review, and its implementation will depend on regulatory clearance.
