Marathi cinema continues to grow in scale and ambition, and the upcoming film Ghabadkund is already creating buzz. At the grand first-look launch event, actor Devdutt Nage made headlines not just for the film, but for a heartfelt revelation about his personal fitness journey. He shared that his close friend and co-actor Kushal Badrike is his true fitness role model.
Known for his strong screen presence and disciplined lifestyle, Devdutt spoke openly about how inspiration often comes from those closest to us. He emphasised that having supportive and motivating friends plays a key role in maintaining balance, especially in a demanding profession like acting. According to him, Kushal has consistently encouraged him to stay committed to fitness, even during hectic shooting schedules.
Recalling moments from the shoot of Ghabadkund, Devdutt painted a lively picture of life on set. He shared how the cast would begin their days with early morning workouts, often in minimal lighting conditions, showcasing their dedication despite challenging circumstances. These sessions were followed by simple pleasures such as jaggery tea and spicy Maggi, which added warmth and camaraderie to their routine.
Adding a light-hearted touch, Devdutt humorously declared Kushal as his “fitness idol” during the event, drawing laughter and applause from the audience. Kushal, known for his comic timing, responded in a playful manner and even encouraged fans to widely share and tag his videos on social media.
Devdutt also took a moment to express gratitude towards his co-stars, including Sandeep Pathak, acknowledging the emotional bond they built during the shoot. He mentioned that the journey of working together on the film has created memories that will remain special for years to come.
Directed by Pritam S. K. Patil and produced by Rasik Kadam, Ghabadkund promises to be a unique addition to Marathi cinema. The film blends suspense, action, comedy, and mystery, and is being positioned as the industry’s first “universe” film, hinting at a broader storytelling approach.
With a strong cast, engaging narrative, and a fresh concept, Ghabadkund is set to hit theatres on June 19. As anticipation builds, stories like these from behind the scenes only add to the excitement, reminding audiences that cinema is as much about relationships as it is about storytelling
