Google India has reinforced its commitment to Mumbai’s commercial hub by renewing long-term leases for its office spaces in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). The company has secured approximately 111,000 square feet of office space, ensuring a continued presence in one of India’s prime business districts.
Google has finalised a five-year lease agreement, which includes a rent escalation of 15% every three years. The monthly rental for the space is set at ₹3.55 crore, with an upfront security deposit of ₹9.64 crore. This move highlights the company’s confidence in Mumbai’s business environment and its strategic importance.
Additionally, Google Cloud India has renewed its lease for a 38,678-square-foot office in the same complex. The lease, which also spans five years, comes with a monthly rental of ₹1.24 crore. Both leases are scheduled to commence in June 2025, ensuring Google’s continued operations in this financial and tech hub.
BKC has evolved into a major commercial destination, housing multinational corporations, banks, and tech firms. The region offers premium infrastructure, proximity to the airport, and seamless connectivity, making it an attractive location for global companies.
Google’s decision to stay in BKC aligns with its broader expansion strategy in India. The company has been steadily increasing its investments in the country, focusing on cloud services, AI-driven solutions, and localised digital initiatives.
Impact on Mumbai’s Commercial Real Estate
This lease renewal reinforces Mumbai’s position as a preferred destination for global tech firms. With multinational companies securing long-term leases, demand for premium office spaces in BKC is expected to remain strong, driving further development in the region.
Google’s continued presence in Mumbai underscores its confidence in India’s digital growth and economic potential, setting the stage for future expansion.
