YouTube channels blocked include Dawn News, Samaa TV, ARY News and more from Pakistan.
The Indian government has blocked 16 YouTube channels based in Pakistan, accusing them of spreading misinformation against India and the Indian Army. Big names like Dawn News, Samaa TV and ARY News are among those whose channels have been pulled down.
This move comes just as the deadline for Pakistani nationals holding visas in India ended on Sunday, 27 April 2025. According to a senior official from the Home Ministry, almost all Pakistani citizens, except those with medical, diplomatic or long-term visas, have now left the country. Final verifications are still underway to ensure full compliance.
In another development, Pakistan has called for international involvement in the investigation into the recent Pahalgam terror attack. Speaking to the Russian state-owned RIA Novosti news agency, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif suggested that countries like Russia, China or even Western nations could step in. He said an international team should be formed to investigate whether India or Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being truthful about the attack.
Meanwhile, in Kashmir, Sunday saw growing anger from several regional political parties over the security forces’ demolition drive. Ten buildings linked to terrorists were brought down through controlled blasts, sparking fresh controversy across the region.
Tensions also remained high along the Line of Control (LoC), with Indian and Pakistani forces exchanging small arms fire for a third straight day. The ongoing clashes have forced many residents living close to the border in Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts to leave their underground bunkers and seek safer locations.
