Indriya, the jewellery arm of Aditya Birla Group, showcased its latest collection ‘Orizon’ at Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI, presenting a striking blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern design. The showcase brought together luminous Polki jewellery and sculptural couture by Amit Aggarwal, redefining Indian heritage for a contemporary audience.
The runway presentation highlighted Indriya’s innovative approach to Polki jewellery, transforming a traditional craft into modern wearable art. With an emphasis on light, colour and fluid design, the collection explored how heritage techniques can evolve to suit the tastes of today’s consumers. The jewellery featured intricate craftsmanship combined with vibrant gemstones, creating pieces that felt both rooted and forward-looking.
Actor Disha Patani took centre stage as the showstopper, bringing the ‘Orizon’ narrative to life. Styled in Indriya’s jewellery and Amit Aggarwal’s signature couture, her presence reflected the theme of transformation where tradition meets modern expression. The show unfolded as a visual journey, beginning with minimal diamond pieces and gradually transitioning into bold Polki and gold creations.
A key highlight of the collection was the reinterpretation of Polki through advanced techniques such as the samosa dart setting. This method enhances light reflection beneath each stone, creating a distinctive brilliance and glow. The collection also featured rare gemstones including tourmalines, tanzanites, sapphires, rubies and South Sea pearls, adding depth and vibrancy to each piece.
Indriya’s master artisans further elevated the designs with innovative settings like wall-prong and corner-bezel, reducing visible metal and giving the jewellery a weightless, floating appearance. These techniques not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal but also reinforced the brand’s focus on modern elegance and craftsmanship.
The collaboration with Amit Aggarwal added another dimension to the showcase. Known for his sculptural silhouettes and use of Banarasi weaves and mirror work, Aggarwal created garments that complemented the jewellery seamlessly. Together, the designs formed a cohesive narrative that balanced tradition with innovation.
At its core, ‘Orizon’ represented a journey from subtle brilliance to bold radiance, symbolising personal evolution and self-expression. The showcase positioned heritage not as a limitation but as a source of inspiration for modern design.
With this presentation, Indriya and Amit Aggarwal delivered a contemporary interpretation of Indian craftsmanship, demonstrating how traditional art forms can continue to evolve on global fashion platforms.
