The grand music launch of Marathi film Reel Star lit up the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Auditorium near Shivaji Park, Dadar. The cast, crew, producers, and technicians joined hands to celebrate as the film’s much-awaited music was unveiled to the audience. From the beginning, Marathi film Reel Star has drawn attention for its meaningful story and heartfelt music. The project has been produced under the banners of J-Fives Entertainment, Phoenix Group, and Initiative Films, with producers Jose Abraham, Monica, and Nishil Kambati at the helm. The film is presented by Nasir Khan and Gurvinder Singh of Nirmaldeep Production. Directors Simmy and Robin, known for their earlier Hindi-Marathi film “Anya,” are back with this ambitious venture.
At its heart, the film follows Bhanudas, a street vendor who dares to dream beyond his circumstances. His struggles and determination drive the narrative, offering a story of grit and inspiration. Leading the cast is Bhushan Manjule, brother of celebrated filmmaker Nagraj Manjule. Actor Prasad Oak plays a journalist, adding depth to the plot. The film also features Milind Shinde, Kailas Waghmare, Urmila Jagtap, Ruchira Jadhav, Swapnil Rajshekhar, Shubhangi Latkar, Vijay Patkar, Anant Mahadevan, Dnyanesh Wadekar, Mahesh Subhedar, Shivaji Patne, Ganesh Revdekar, Abhinav Patekar, Vishal Arjun, Rajesh Malvankar, Prashant Shinde, and Karishma Desale. Child actors Arjun Gaykar and Tanushka Mhadse play key roles as well.
The soundtrack of Marathi film Reel Star has been designed to capture diverse moods and emotions. It includes five songs, with four composed by Vinu Thomas, best known for his work in “Drishyam.” Music director Shubham Bhat, a former assistant to A. R. Rahman, has composed “Ghaav De Jara Ra…,” performed with intensity by Adarsh Shinde. Abhijeet Kosambi and Sayli Kamble lend their voices to “Gar Gar Gara…,” written by Mandar Cholkar. Mandar also penned “Jaguya Mansokta Sare…,” sung by Rohit Raut. Guru Thakur’s “Ka Sunun Sunun Jhala…” gains emotional weight through Manish Rajgire’s performance, while “Phulora…,” another of Mandar’s works, is sung by Mugdha Karhade. Vaibhav Deshmukh’s lyrics for “Ghaav De Jara Ra…” add further depth to Shubham Bhat’s composition.
Behind the music and story stands a talented creative team. The screenplay comes from Sudhir Kulkarni, who has worked closely with Nagraj Manjule. Casting has been directed by Deepak Pandey, while Rohit Kulkarni contributed as associate director. Creative producer Mahendra Patil and chief associate director Nandu Acharekar played important roles in shaping the film’s vision. Production design has been managed by Rahul Sharma and Sameer Chitnavis, with Nilesh Rasal handling art direction.
The look and feel of Marathi film Reel Star have been enhanced by make-up artist Bhagwat Sonawane and costume designer Rani Wankhade, who together built an authentic visual style for the story. Every aspect of the production reflects careful attention to detail, ensuring that the journey of Bhanudas and his family comes alive on screen.
