Manipal, February 13, 2026: The Manipal Institute of Communication, in collaboration with Udayavani as the official media partner, is set to host Namma Sante 2026, its annual flagship student-led community market. Scheduled for February 14 and 15 at KMC Greens, the event promises two days of culture, commerce and community engagement.

Namma Sante has grown into a vibrant platform that connects students, local creators and the wider Manipal and Udupi community. Designed as an inclusive marketplace, it offers artisans, entrepreneurs and small businesses an opportunity to showcase and sell their products directly to consumers. The initiative reflects a strong commitment to supporting local talent and promoting sustainable practices.

This year’s edition carries the theme “Love for Local”. The market will feature 120 stalls displaying a diverse range of products, including handmade crafts, organic produce, fusion cuisine and creative merchandise. Visitors can also look forward to live art demonstrations, artisan workshops and cultural performances. The event aims to create meaningful interactions between creators and buyers, while offering students hands-on experience in organising large-scale public initiatives.

The market will remain open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on both days. Families, students, influencers and residents from across the region are expected to attend, making it one of the most anticipated community gatherings in Manipal.

Namma Sante 2026 will be inaugurated by Mrs Swaroopa T.K., I.A.S., Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Udupi District, who will attend as the chief guest. Dr H.S. Ballal, Pro Chancellor of MAHE, and Mr Vinod Kumar, Managing Director and CEO of Manipal Media Network Limited, will grace the occasion as guests of honour.

Organisers say the event embodies the Manipal Institute of Communication’s emphasis on community-driven media initiatives. By partnering with Udayavani, a leading Kannada-language daily with a strong regional presence, the institute seeks to amplify grassroots voices and strengthen cultural exchange in the Manipal-Udupi region.

Media representatives and visitors are invited to cover the event. High-resolution images and interview opportunities will be made available upon request.

Through Namma Sante, students of the Manipal Institute of Communication demonstrate their ability to blend academic learning with real-world engagement, while contributing to the growth of local enterprise and creativity.
