Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment & Infrastructure Summit 2025 in Guwahati, highlighting Assam’s potential as an investment hotspot. He noted the state’s transformation, with its economy having doubled over the last six years, thanks to extensive investments and improvements in infrastructure. Modi stressed the importance of Assam in India’s growth, calling it a key player in manufacturing, especially in sectors like electronics, semiconductors, and renewable energy.

He highlighted Assam’s strategic location, natural resources, and growing connectivity as major draws for investors. The Prime Minister also focused on India’s emphasis on digital innovation and low-cost manufacturing under initiatives like ‘Make in India’. He expressed confidence that Assam could reach a $150 billion economy by 2030, driven by initiatives like the ‘Unnati’ scheme aimed at boosting industrialisation and tourism.

Further, Modi pointed out the increasing global trust in India’s economy, with Assam poised to become a key player in the nation’s progress. He concluded by calling for enhanced collaboration between industry and government to realise Assam’s full potential.
