Leading Marathi actress Pooja Sawant is all set to captivate audiences in a never-before-seen police avatar in the upcoming film Salbardi. Breaking the stereotype of conventional female roles, Pooja will portray P.I. Manorama Pradhan, a determined, fearless, and upright police officer.
The first look of the film has already created a buzz. The recently unveiled teaser and character posters highlight Pooja’s strong presence and have raised anticipation among fans. At the launch event, she made a grand entry, giving audiences a glimpse of her authoritative and dynamic character.
To bring authenticity to her role, Pooja underwent special preparation. She studied police body language, dialogue delivery, and disciplined conduct. Additionally, she interacted with real police officers to understand their work style, responsibilities, and the essence of wearing the uniform. Speaking about the role, Pooja said, “The moment you wear the uniform, a certain authority comes naturally. You don’t have to act it out—the uniform itself carries power. I believe this role will inspire every woman.”
Salbardi promises thrilling stunts and action-packed sequences, making it a high-octane cinematic experience. The film is scheduled for a statewide release on 17 April, promising mystery, suspense, and gripping investigative drama.
Set in the remote village of Salbardi in Maharashtra, the story revolves around mysterious and terrifying incidents that challenge P.I. Manorama Pradhan. The narrative blends fear, tension, and investigation in a rural backdrop, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats.
Produced under the banner of Nebula Films by Anil Devde Patil, Dr. Gajanan Jadhav, and Ram Jadhav, Salbardi is directed by Ramesh Sahebrao Chaudhary. The film’s screenplay and dialogues are penned by Rohit Shukre, with music composed by Padmanabh Gaikwad and background score by Amar Mohile. Lyrics by Guru Thakur and Mukund Bhalerao add emotional depth, while vocals from Ajay Gogavale, Javed Ali, and Anandi Joshi enhance the soundtrack.
The film’s visual appeal is enhanced by cinematographer Siddhesh Santosh More, editor Siddhesh Santosh More, choreographers Phulwa Khamkar and Ashish Patil, costume designer Pranita Chindge, makeup by Shrinivas Menugade, and art direction by Pradeep Gurav.
