On the eve of Republic Day, the President conferred prestigious gallantry awards to Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel for their extraordinary courage and service under extreme circumstances.
Shaurya Chakra was awarded to Corporal Dabhi Sanjay Hiffabai for his exceptional bravery during a terrorist ambush in Jammu and Kashmir. Despite suffering multiple injuries, he retaliated effectively, preventing further advances and ensuring the safety of his team and equipment.

Corporal Vikky Pahade was posthumously honoured with the Vayu Sena Medal (Gallantry) for his composure and valour during the same ambush. Despite sustaining critical injuries, his actions provided cover for his team to repel the attack.

Wing Commander Ankit Sood for conducting high-risk humanitarian missions during devastating floods in Himachal Pradesh. Over five days, he evacuated critically ill patients and delivered essential supplies in hostile weather and terrain.
