Mumbai is witnessing a significant shift in its healthcare landscape as the PULSE 2026 summit sets the stage for Maharashtra’s ambitious journey towards becoming a global healthcare hub. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the summit and outlined an expansive Vision 2047. According to him, the goal is clear: accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare for every citizen.
A major highlight of the vision is the government’s plan to ensure healthcare facilities are available within a 5 to 8 kilometre radius for all residents. This approach focuses on decentralising healthcare infrastructure, making essential services more reachable, especially in urban and semi-urban areas.
The summit also placed strong emphasis on the integration of advanced technologies in healthcare. Discussions revolved around digital health systems, artificial intelligence, and clinical innovation, all of which are expected to play a crucial role in modernising the sector. Sunetra Pawar highlighted the importance of leveraging technology to ensure inclusive growth. She noted that platforms like PULSE 2026 can drive meaningful collaboration and innovation, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
In addition, key leaders including Hasan Mushrif and Madhuri Misal stressed the need to strengthen medical education and infrastructure. They also pointed to medical tourism as a promising sector that can contribute significantly to the state’s economy while enhancing its global reputation.
