The team behind the blockbuster Saiyaara is coming together once again for a new romantic film that promises intense emotions and memorable music. Director Mohit Suri, producer Akshaye Widhani, and rising stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda are set to collaborate on an untitled project that is already generating strong buzz among fans.
The announcement follows the massive success of Saiyaara, which became one of the most successful romantic films in Indian cinema. The film reportedly earned around ₹338 crore net in India and approximately ₹580 crore worldwide. It stood out not just for its box office performance but also for its music, which continued to dominate streaming platforms long after the film’s release. Its emotional storytelling and chart-topping soundtrack helped it connect deeply with audiences, especially younger viewers.
Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, who made a strong impression with their performances in Saiyaara, quickly became fan favourites among Gen Z audiences. Their on-screen chemistry earned them a dedicated fanbase, often referred to as “Ahneet”. With this new project, the duo is expected to bring back the same charm and authenticity that made their debut so impactful.
Director Mohit Suri, known for crafting emotionally charged love stories, shared his thoughts on the reunion. He said that love, for him, has always been about intensity and raw emotion. According to him, the upcoming film will explore these feelings in an unfiltered way. He added that returning with the same team feels special, almost like coming home, but with a renewed creative energy. Suri also expressed excitement and nervousness about the project, emphasising his desire to once again create music that resonates deeply with audiences.
Producer Akshaye Widhani highlighted the strong creative synergy between him and Mohit Suri. He said their collaboration goes beyond filmmaking and focuses on creating moments that stay with audiences long after the film ends. Reflecting on the success of Saiyaara, he described it as a milestone that the team will always cherish. With the new film, he said, the aim is to create something even more honest, emotional, and enduring.
Backed by Yash Raj Films, the upcoming project is expected to go on floors later this year. The film is currently targeting a theatrical release in 2027 and is likely to feature a strong musical element, staying true to the team’s signature style.
With a proven team, a popular lead pair, and a focus on music-driven storytelling, the film is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated romantic releases in the coming years.
