The 25th edition of the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival (KGAF) saw a historic moment with the first-ever senior showcase, hosted by GenS Life. The event, held in the Silver Jubilee year of the festival, featured a performance by 40 senior dancers, choreographed by Sandip Soparrkar, along with his team member Abhishek Bohara. The dancers received an overwhelming response from the audience, highlighting the talent of the 60+ community.

In addition to the dance performances, the Mumbai Harmonics, a group of senior musicians, captivated the crowd with their unique mouth organ melodies. The group, who often perform in public spaces, brought a soulful element to the festival, proving that music knows no age.
The event also marked the official launch of Kahaani Abhi Baaki Hai, an anthem by GenS Life, sung by the renowned Usha Uthup. The anthem celebrates life after 60 and reflects GenS Life’s commitment to empowering seniors. The anthem’s performance was a reminder of the limitless potential of life beyond the traditional retirement age.
Meenakshi Menon, the Founder of GenS Life, expressed her excitement about the event. “This is just the beginning,” she said. “GenS Life is on a mission to empower seniors and show that life after 60 holds endless possibilities. The response today has been incredible.”
Sandip Soparrkar, the choreographer, praised the seniors for their energy and enthusiasm. “Age is just a number. The performers’ grace and passion were inspiring,” he said. “GenS Life is creating important opportunities for the 60+ community.”
Dr Anonna Guha, dance curator at KGAF, highlighted the significance of the event. “This senior showcase was truly special,” she said. “It was a fresh perspective on aging and artistic expression. We are proud to have been part of this historic moment.”
The event concluded with a heartfelt performance of Kahaani Abhi Baaki Hai, where the audience joined in the chorus, celebrating the idea that the best chapters of life are yet to come.
