South African Tourism has announced the 11th edition of its flagship Learn South Africa (Learn SA) training programme, reinforcing its efforts to deepen engagement with India’s travel trade. The 2025–26 edition aims to equip over 300 travel partners with updated insights, destination knowledge, and business tools to promote South Africa’s diverse tourism offerings more effectively.

Focusing on high-potential tier-2 cities, this year’s multi-city workshop series will begin in Surat on 28 November 2025, followed by Pune on 12 December 2025. The programme will continue in Kolkata on 16 January 2026 and conclude in Lucknow on 6 March 2026. Through these workshops, South African Tourism aims to strengthen collaboration with travel trade partners, address on-ground challenges, and prepare them to cater to the growing interest in South Africa as a leisure and MICE destination.

India remains one of South African Tourism’s key markets, driven by growing spending power and the increasing desire for long-haul travel. Programmes like Learn SA are essential to showcase the country’s attractions, broaden market understanding, and support long-term tourism growth while reinforcing the India–South Africa travel corridor.

Gcobani Mancotywa, Regional General Manager for Asia, Australasia, and the Middle East at South African Tourism, said, “We are thrilled to launch the 11th edition of Learn South Africa in India, reflecting our ongoing commitment to this dynamic market. Expanding into new regions is key to connecting with Indian travellers. These workshops in Surat, Pune, Kolkata, and Lucknow will provide our travel trade partners with refreshed insights and comprehensive destination knowledge. By highlighting experiences beyond Cape Town and Johannesburg, we aim to empower our partners to create distinctive itineraries and inspire Indian travellers to explore South Africa’s vibrant and lesser-known provinces.”

In line with South African Tourism’s vision to distribute traveller footfall more evenly, the Learn SA workshops will spotlight hidden gems across regions like Mpumalanga, Free State, Limpopo, and others. This approach enables travel partners to craft fresh, immersive experiences for Indian travellers seeking new landscapes and authentic cultural encounters.

The 11th edition of Learn SA will train over 300 partners across four cities, strengthening South African Tourism’s network and showcasing the tourism board’s continued dedication to India. This programme is part of a series of initiatives, including the Corporate Think Tank, OTM Roadshow, and Annual India Roadshow 2025, reflecting the board’s commitment to nurturing relationships with Indian travellers and travel partners.
