Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan felicitated the Super-100 winners of Veer Gatha 4.0 in New Delhi on January 25, 2025. Among the 100 winners, 66 were girls from across the country. Each winner was presented with a cash prize of Rs 10,000, a medal, and a certificate. The winners will also attend the Republic Day Parade on January 26, 2025.

Rajnath Singh congratulated the winners, praising the participation of over 1.76 crore students in the initiative. The aim of the programme is to connect youth with India’s historical heroes and honour their bravery. Singh highlighted the resilience of students, noting the special example of Nemneineng, a girl from Manipur who overcame personal hardship to secure a place among the winners.
The defence minister emphasised that India’s youth are key to the nation’s future and will play an important role in transforming the country into a developed nation by 2047. He acknowledged the global recognition of India’s achievements, attributing it to the hard work of citizens, including the youth.
Singh urged students to draw inspiration from national heroes and continue pursuing their goals with confidence, without letting ego affect their journey.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan noted that the Veer Gatha initiative not only celebrates the sacrifices of gallantry award winners but also fosters creativity among students. He emphasised the importance of patriotism, grit, and national pride in the development of the nation.
Param Vir Chakra awardee Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar shared his experiences from the 1999 Kargil War, urging students to embody the values of bravery, selflessness, and integrity in their lives.
The event was attended by senior officials from the Defence Ministry, including Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, and other senior military leaders.
