Western Railway will carry out a significant five-hour maintenance block on Sunday, February 16, between Borivali and Goregaon stations. The block will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at 3:00 PM to facilitate essential track, signalling, and overhead equipment upgrades.
As a result, all fast trains on the affected section will be diverted to the slow lines. This will cause delays, especially for passengers who rely on fast services. In addition, several local trains will be cancelled during the block period, particularly those between Borivali and Goregaon stations.
Commuters are advised to stay updated on real-time changes through station announcements and Western Railway’s official channels. While the block may cause some inconvenience, it is necessary for maintaining and improving the overall infrastructure of Mumbai’s suburban railway system.
Passengers are encouraged to check train schedules in advance and plan their travel accordingly to avoid disruptions. Some Harbour Line services will also experience changes, with certain trains terminating at Goregaon instead of their usual destinations.
Western Railway has assured commuters that the maintenance work is essential to ensure safe and smooth operations for the future.
