The high-octane Delhi Legislative Assembly election is scheduled for Wednesday, 5 February 2025. All 70 constituencies of the capital region will be voting in a single phase. The main contenders are the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Congress. The AAP, led by Arvind Kejriwal, has been in power since 2015, while the BJP aims to reclaim control after nearly three decades.

To facilitate voting, the Delhi and Haryana governments have declared a public holiday on polling day. On the security front, the capital region will be under tight vigilance, with more than 150 companies of paramilitary forces and 30,000 police personnel deployed across the city.

Campaigning for the elections has concluded today, with all participating parties making their final push to sway voters. Delhi has approximately 1.56 crore registered voters, including 83.76 lakh men, 72.36 lakh women, and 1,267 third-gender voters. Voting will take place at 13,766 polling stations.
The counting of votes is scheduled for Saturday, 8 February, with results expected the same day. In the 2020 elections, AAP secured 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP won 8 seats. The Congress failed to win any seats.
To ensure a fair electoral process, the Election Commission has prohibited the release of exit polls until 6:30 PM on February 5. As Delhi prepares to vote, the city anticipates a significant turnout, with authorities taking all necessary measures for smooth and secure polling.
