After the strong success of its first season, which garnered over 9.36 million views on YouTube, Rusk Media has announced the return of its popular coming-of-age series School Friends: Class of ’26. The second season is set to stream soon on the Alright YouTube Channel, the company’s premium fiction platform, with production scheduled to begin shortly.
Building on the emotional connection established in the first season, the new chapter revisits the lives of Avinash, Ananya and Saurav during the crucial months leading up to their board examinations. However, this time, their journey is far more complex. The once inseparable trio now finds itself drifting apart as ambitions grow, priorities shift and life begins to present difficult choices.
Season 2 aims to explore the evolving dynamics of friendship and the pressures of growing up. As expectations mount and personal struggles deepen, each character is forced to confront uncertainties about their future. The narrative moves beyond light-hearted moments, diving into themes of identity, emotional conflict and the realities that come with stepping into adulthood.
Speaking about the new season, Mayank Yadav, Co-Founder and CEO of Rusk Media, said that the vision behind the series has always been to create stories that feel personal yet layered. He noted that the response to Season 1 reflected how strongly audiences connected with the characters. According to him, Season 2 takes the story into a more mature space, where relationships evolve and choices carry real consequences.
Actor Aaditya Gupta, who plays Avinash Singh, shared that returning for the second season has been a meaningful experience. He described his character as someone who feels deeply but struggles to express himself, adding that the new season pushes Avinash emotionally and personally.
Rishabh Joshi, who portrays Saurav Khare, highlighted the audience response to the first season, especially around friendship and humour. He explained that the new season reveals a more layered side of Saurav, showing the pressures he faces beneath his easygoing personality.
Meanwhile, Arista Mehta, who plays Ananya Bhatnagar, said the upcoming season challenges her character’s confidence and certainty. She pointed out that Ananya will navigate personal loss and major life decisions, making her journey more intense and emotionally driven.
With its mix of friendship, ambition and the complexities of adolescence, School Friends: Class of ’26 Season 2 promises a deeper and more emotionally engaging continuation. As anticipation builds, the series is expected to once again strike a chord with young audiences across the country when it premieres in the coming weeks.
