In today’s fast-moving world, women often place the health and wellbeing of their families above their own. Busy schedules, household responsibilities and professional commitments frequently lead many women to delay regular medical check-ups and preventive care. Recognising this growing concern, Surya Hospitals has launched its advanced and dedicated women’s healthcare facility, the “Amber Wing,” in Mumbai.
The newly launched wing has been designed exclusively to cater to women’s medical needs with modern infrastructure, specialised treatment facilities and a strong focus on preventive healthcare. The initiative aims not only to provide treatment but also to encourage women to become more aware and proactive about their health.
Bollywood actress Yami Gautam Dhar joined the launch event as a health awareness advocate and strongly supported the message of early diagnosis and regular health screenings. Addressing the gathering, she highlighted how women frequently ignore warning signs and postpone healthcare due to family responsibilities.
Yami Gautam Dhar said that women often prioritise everyone else while their own health takes a backseat. She emphasised that timely screenings and preventive healthcare are extremely important in avoiding serious health complications. According to her, initiatives like the Amber Wing can play a major role in encouraging women to take charge of their wellbeing and seek medical attention without delay.
The Amber Wing adds 55 new beds to the hospital and is equipped with state-of-the-art medical infrastructure designed specifically for women. The facility will offer specialised services across several critical medical departments including cardiology, robotic surgery, orthopaedics, cosmetic surgery and intensive critical care support. By bringing multiple healthcare services under one roof, the hospital aims to provide women with comprehensive and seamless treatment options.
Apart from advanced treatment facilities, the hospital has also introduced “The Amber Promise for Women’s Health,” an awareness-driven initiative focused on preventive healthcare. The campaign seeks to educate women about the importance of regular screenings, timely diagnosis and early medical intervention. Doctors associated with the initiative believe that increasing awareness can significantly reduce health risks and improve long-term outcomes for women across different age groups.
Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Surya Hospitals, Dr. Bhupendra S. Awasthi, said the vision behind the project is to provide women with compassionate, integrated and world-class healthcare services in a dedicated environment. He added that women deserve specialised medical care that addresses their unique health concerns with sensitivity and advanced technology.
Healthcare experts believe that facilities dedicated solely to women can help create a more comfortable and supportive environment for patients. Such centres also encourage conversations around preventive care, mental wellbeing and lifestyle-related health issues that are often neglected.
With rising awareness about women’s health in India, the launch of the Amber Wing marks another important step towards improving access to specialised healthcare services. Through advanced infrastructure, awareness programmes and expert care, the initiative hopes to inspire women to place equal importance on their own health and wellbeing.
