Music has always been an integral part of Marathi cinema, helping films connect with audiences through memorable melodies and meaningful storytelling. Continuing this tradition, the upcoming Marathi film Live is set to offer a rich musical experience, featuring a special dance number performed by popular dancer Gautami Patil.
Produced by Sumit Pandey under the banner of Riddhi Biddhi Visions and presented by Chhabi Asim Haldar, Live is written and directed by Sanjeev Rai. While the film’s intriguing title has already sparked curiosity among movie lovers, the makers have now added another attraction with a contemporary Lavani-inspired song that promises to bring colour and energy to the screen.
The recently filmed track, titled “Lagla Thaska 440 Cha Zhatka…”, combines the vibrant spirit of traditional Lavani with a modern musical style. The song was shot at Feature Studio in Goregaon and features Gautami Patil, one of Maharashtra’s most recognised and popular performers. Known for her electrifying stage presence and strong fan following, Gautami’s appearance is expected to generate significant interest among audiences.
The song has been written by lyricist Ashpak FH Shaikh, while playback singer Khushboo Jain has lent her voice to the energetic number. Music director Aman Shlok has composed the track, blending folk influences with contemporary sounds to create a song that fits both the film’s narrative and modern audience tastes.
According to director Sanjeev Rai, the song is not merely an item number inserted for entertainment. Instead, it plays an important role in the storyline and appears at a crucial stage of the film. He explained that the sequence has been carefully woven into the narrative and contributes to the emotional and dramatic progression of the story.
Rai also shared that Gautami Patil was chosen for the song because of her immense popularity and ability to bring exceptional energy to the screen. He believes her performance has elevated the sequence and added a unique dimension to the film.
Beyond its music, Live carries a socially relevant storyline. The film revolves around a woman’s fight for justice and her rights, highlighting various issues that continue to affect society today. Through its narrative, the film aims to shed light on important social realities while delivering an engaging cinematic experience.
The cast includes several well-known names from the Marathi entertainment industry, including Milind Gunaji, Anant Jog, Nishigandha Wad, Rupali Jadhav, Hiten Tejwani, Sagar Kale, Anil Nagarath, Namrata Jadhav and Vinay Rajput in key roles.
The film’s dialogues have been written by Poonam Vibhute, while cinematography is handled by Gopi. Saifuddin Shaikh serves as the art director. In addition to Ashpak FH Shaikh, lyricist Mahaling Kanthale has also contributed songs to the project. The film’s music has been composed by Dinesh Arjuna and Aman Shlok.
With an inspiring storyline, a talented ensemble cast and Gautami Patil’s high-energy Lavani-inspired performance, Live is shaping up to be one of the Marathi films to watch out for in the coming months.
