Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy will inaugurate the Ministry of Mines Pavilion at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025, being held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, on 14 November 2025. The IITF, organized annually by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), is one of Asia’s largest trade exhibitions, drawing over a million visitors and serving as a vibrant platform to showcase India’s industrial, technological, and economic achievements. This year’s pavilion will powerfully highlight India’s mineral strength and its pivotal contribution to building a Viksit Bharat – Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, a vision that emphasizes a developed, united, and exemplary India by 2047, with self-reliance in strategic sectors at its core.

Spanning an expansive 1,500 square metres, the pavilion has been meticulously designed to deliver a dynamic, immersive, and educational experience. It will feature state-of-the-art interactive displays, thematic exhibits, and cutting-edge digital installations that narrate India’s mining journey—from geological exploration and technological innovation to sustainable practices and community-centric development. The layout guides visitors through a seamless storytelling arc, blending historical milestones with future-ready advancements in the mineral sector.

All key organizations under the Ministry of Mines will participate with dedicated showcases. National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna public sector undertaking, will highlight its world-class alumina refinery and smelter operations, underscoring its leadership in sustainable aluminium production and significant export contributions. Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) will present its expanded mining capacity and modernization initiatives. The Geological Survey of India (GSI) and Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL) will demonstrate advanced geophysical surveys and deep-seated mineral exploration projects. Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre (JNARDDC) and the National Institute of Rock Mechanics (NIRM) will showcase research breakthroughs in material science and mine safety technologies.

A centerpiece of the pavilion will be the thematic zone dedicated to the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM), a flagship initiative aimed at strengthening India’s critical mineral ecosystem. This section will detail ongoing efforts to identify, explore, and develop strategic minerals such as lithium, cobalt, graphite, and rare earth elements—resources indispensable for clean energy technologies, electric vehicles, and advanced manufacturing. The Non-Ferrous Technology Development Centre (NFTDC) will unveil cutting-edge innovations in mineral processing, recycling, and green metallurgy under this theme.

Private sector leaders will enrich the narrative. Hindalco Industries Limited will display scale models of the Vande Bharat Express and Chandrayaan-3 lunar rover, symbolizing how indigenous metals and minerals power India’s technological and space ambitions. Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) will spotlight its global leadership in sustainable mining, zero-liquid discharge systems, and comprehensive recycling programs that minimize environmental impact.

Exhibits from District Mineral Foundations (DMFs) and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) will illustrate grassroots impact showcasing how mining revenues fund healthcare, education, and infrastructure in mineral-rich districts while empowering women through skill development and entrepreneurship programs under CSR initiatives.

To engage younger audiences, the pavilion will offer Virtual Reality (VR) simulations allowing visitors to ‘descend’into a virtual lithium mine, witness real-time exploration by GSI teams, and experience sustainable rehabilitation of mined land. Interactive quizzes, digital mining dashboards, and daily expert talks on mineral beneficiation and green technologies will further inspire students and professionals.

The Ministry of Mines Pavilion stands as a testament to responsible mining, technological innovation, and inclusive growth reinforcing India’s journey toward self-reliance in minerals and the grand vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
