Tata Motors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Maharashtra Gramin Bank to strengthen financing options for its commercial vehicle customers across Maharashtra. The partnership focuses particularly on small commercial vehicles and pick-ups, including the popular Tata Ace Pro.
The agreement aims to make vehicle ownership more accessible for entrepreneurs, transporters and first-time buyers. Through this collaboration, customers will benefit from lower interest rates, simplified documentation and faster loan approvals. These measures are expected to help small business owners and aspiring transport operators acquire vehicles with affordable monthly instalments.
Maharashtra Gramin Bank operates a strong regional network with 748 branches across the state. This wide presence will play a key role in improving financing access for customers in both rural and semi-urban areas. By combining Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle portfolio with the bank’s financial reach, the partnership seeks to support small businesses and strengthen local economic activity.
Small commercial vehicles have long played a crucial role in Maharashtra’s economy. Tata Motors’ SCVPU range supports several sectors, including agriculture, horticulture and tourism. These vehicles help transport agricultural produce from farming regions to markets and facilitate goods movement across cities, towns and rural areas.
The SCVPU portfolio offers cargo solutions designed for different business requirements and terrains. Customers can choose from multiple fuel options such as diesel, petrol, CNG, bi-fuel and electric variants. Payload capacities range from 750 kilograms to two tonnes, giving operators the flexibility to select vehicles suited to their operational needs.
Commenting on the partnership, Pinaki Haldar, Vice President and Business Head for the SCVPU segment at Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, said the collaboration reflects the company’s commitment to enabling entrepreneurship and supporting livelihoods through reliable mobility solutions. He added that the tie-up will simplify financing and make Tata Motors’ small commercial vehicles more accessible to new buyers across the state.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the presence of Milind Gharad, Chairman of Maharashtra Gramin Bank, along with senior officials from both organisations.
Tata Motors currently offers a wide range of vehicles in the small commercial segment. These include the Tata Ace, which has empowered more than 25 lakh entrepreneurs across India. The Tata Intra pick-up focuses on improved drivability and higher payload capacity, while the rugged Tata Yodha is designed for demanding terrains and heavy-duty operations.
With the addition of the Ace Pro mini truck and the Ace Gold+ Diesel model, the company continues to expand its portfolio. Supported by an extensive sales and service network, Tata Motors aims to provide durable, reliable and cost-effective transport solutions for businesses across India.
