Social entrepreneur Neetu Joshi has been honoured with the prestigious National Green Pride Award for her contributions to environmental conservation, tree plantation, rural development and community empowerment. The recognition highlights her sustained efforts towards creating positive social and environmental change, particularly among underprivileged and tribal communities.

The award was presented by the Kalpataru organisation at a national ceremony held in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The event was led by Vishnu Lamba, while Jaipur Collector Sandesh Nayak presented the honour to Neetu Joshi. The ceremony was attended by Padma Shri awardees Jagdish Parekh and Sundaram Verma, along with other guests and dignitaries.

Neetu Joshi has been actively involved in social initiatives through the MIAM Charitable Trust, which she established in 2022. The trust works across several areas, including environmental protection, education, women’s empowerment, animal welfare and rural development. Its initiatives aim to address both ecological concerns and the socio-economic challenges faced by communities in rural and tribal areas.

One of the trust’s significant environmental initiatives has been its tree plantation programme in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district. As part of its efforts to promote green cover and environmental awareness, the organisation has undertaken the plantation of approximately five lakh saplings in the region.

Alongside environmental conservation, the MIAM Charitable Trust is also working towards creating livelihood opportunities for tribal women. Through skill-based training programmes, the trust aims to help women develop capabilities that can support self-employment and greater economic independence. These initiatives combine environmental action with community development, giving local communities an opportunity to participate in sustainable activities.

Joshi’s journey towards social service comes after more than two decades in the entertainment industry. Having spent a significant part of her professional life in the entertainment sector, she has increasingly devoted her time and efforts to initiatives focused on social welfare and community development.

The National Green Pride Award marks another recognition of her work in these areas. For Joshi, however, the honour is also a motivation to continue contributing to environmental and social causes.

Speaking about her approach to social service, Joshi has emphasised the importance of family values, support and the trust of society. According to her, these remain important sources of strength for anyone working towards meaningful change.

The recognition comes at a time when environmental conservation and sustainable rural development continue to require participation from individuals, organisations and communities. Through the MIAM Charitable Trust’s work in tree plantation, women’s empowerment, education and rural development, Joshi continues to focus on initiatives that connect environmental responsibility with community welfare.

The National Green Pride Award has added another milestone to her journey from the entertainment industry to social entrepreneurship, while also bringing attention to the wider environmental and community-focused initiatives undertaken through her organisation.
