From playing a child artist in Ferrari Ki Sawaari to becoming a familiar face among OTT audiences, Ritvik Sahore has gradually built a career across films and digital platforms. His next role takes him into a very different world as he plays Aniket Nikam, the son of celebrated lawyer Ujjwal Nikam, in Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam.
The film stars Rajkummar Rao as Ujjwal Nikam and is directed by Avinash Arun. Wamiqa Gabbi and Jaideep Ahlawat are also part of the cast. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on October 16, 2026, following the recent release of its trailer.
For Ritvik, Aniket is not simply a supporting character in the story of a well-known lawyer. The film also looks at the personal side of Ujjwal Nikam and the family that stood behind him while he handled some of the country’s high-profile criminal cases.
Speaking about the role, Ritvik said that playing Aniket gave him the opportunity to explore the relationship between a father and son and understand how the family remained a support system while Ujjwal Nikam pursued his professional responsibilities.
That family perspective gives the film another layer. Behind a public figure known for his work in courtrooms is a family whose experiences and sacrifices are usually less visible.
The film also revisits the legal proceedings that followed the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, focusing on the courtroom proceedings surrounding the prosecution of Ajmal Kasab. Ritvik said that while several films have explored the events of 26/11, the legal battle that followed received comparatively less attention.
For the actor, that was one of the reasons the project stood out.
Ritvik has been working in front of the camera since childhood. His early appearance came in Ferrari Ki Sawaari, after which he featured in films such as Dangal. Over the years, he moved between films and OTT projects, appearing in titles including Flames, Indori Ishq, Campus Diaries, Jamnapaar and Highway Love.
His work has also received recognition at film festivals and award platforms. He won Best Performance at the China International Children’s Film Festival for Gauru: Journey of Courage and Best Actor at the Mumbai International Film Festival for To Remember Me By. His performance in Ferrari Ki Sawaari also earned him a Screen Awards nomination for Best Child Artist.
With Prahaar, Ritvik gets the chance to work alongside Rajkummar Rao and director Avinash Arun, an experience he described as enriching for his growth as an actor.
The role also marks another step in his transition from child artist to an actor taking on more mature characters. Rather than relying only on the familiarity audiences have built with him through OTT shows, Ritvik’s latest project places him inside a story shaped by family, law and one of the most significant chapters in India’s recent history.
As Prahaar arrives in cinemas on October 16, audiences will get to see how Ritvik approaches the quieter, personal side of a story largely associated with the courtroom and the public life of Ujjwal Nikam.
