In a recent session of the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi expressed his discontent with Prime Minister Modi’s Make in India initiative, describing it as a concept that has ultimately failed to deliver tangible results. He acknowledged the initiative’s potential but pointed out significant shortcomings, particularly in comparison to China’s rapid advancements in the manufacturing sector.
Gandhi highlighted that while Make in India aimed to boost domestic manufacturing and create jobs, it has not succeeded in meeting its objectives. He stated that China has gained a considerable advantage, claiming a decade’s lead over India in production capabilities.
He urged the government to reassess its approach and develop a more effective strategy to enhance India’s competitiveness in the global manufacturing landscape. Gandhi’s comments reflect growing concerns among opposition leaders regarding the effectiveness of the current administration’s economic policies.
