Television star Arjun Bijlani recently took time away from his busy shooting schedule to visit cancer patients in Chhattisgarh, an experience that left a deep emotional impact on him. The actor, who is currently entertaining audiences with Laughter Chefs and will soon be seen in Netflix’s Chumbak, spent time interacting with children undergoing cancer treatment and their families. The visit strengthened his belief that creating awareness about cancer and encouraging preventive healthcare should become a collective responsibility.
Sharing his thoughts after meeting the patients, Arjun said the experience was both heartbreaking and eye opening. He revealed that seeing very young children battling cancer was difficult to process and reminded him of how precious life truly is. According to the actor, watching parents do everything possible to ensure their children receive proper treatment was deeply moving.
He said that meeting families going through such challenging circumstances made him realise the importance of empathy and support. Beyond emotional encouragement, he believes society must focus on educating people about cancer, recognising symptoms early and promoting regular health check-ups.
Arjun also spoke about the need for greater participation from public figures across different industries. He questioned why people often expect only Bollywood celebrities to lead social awareness campaigns when many others have the ability to influence millions.
According to him, television actors, artists from the Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam film industries, sports personalities, digital creators, YouTubers and social media influencers all have an important role to play. Anyone with a large audience can contribute towards spreading awareness and encouraging people to take their health seriously.
The actor stressed that social responsibility should never be limited to a few individuals. Instead, he believes every influential personality should use their platform to inspire positive change. He added that awareness campaigns become far more effective when multiple voices come together with the same purpose.
Arjun also spoke about a common mindset that often prevents people from participating in social causes. He observed that many individuals assume someone else is already doing enough and therefore feel no need to contribute themselves. He believes this approach must change.
Instead, he encouraged people to see others’ efforts as motivation rather than a reason to remain uninvolved. According to him, every additional voice strengthens a campaign and increases its reach. He emphasised that serving society should never involve personal calculations or expectations of recognition.
Highlighting the importance of preventive healthcare, Arjun reminded people of the well known saying, “Prevention is better than cure.” He explained that detecting diseases in their early stages can significantly improve treatment outcomes. Ignoring warning signs, however, can have consequences not only for the patient but also for their entire family.
The actor urged people to prioritise regular medical check-ups and remain aware of symptoms that should not be ignored. He believes timely action, combined with greater public awareness, can save countless lives.
Concluding his message, Arjun encouraged everyone to take responsibility for their own health while also helping spread awareness within their communities. He expressed hope that if more people come together to educate others and support important causes, society can make meaningful progress in the fight against cancer.
His visit to Chhattisgarh served as a powerful reminder that compassion, awareness and early action can make a lasting difference in many lives.
