Hero MotoCorp has announced a major investment of more than ₹3,200 crore in Andhra Pradesh, reaffirming its commitment to India’s manufacturing sector and the future of electric mobility. As part of this expansion, the company has laid the foundation stone for its second Global Parts Centre (GPC) in Tirupati, a project that will involve an investment of over ₹750 crore.
The new facility is expected to play a key role in strengthening Hero MotoCorp’s domestic and international supply chain while transforming Tirupati into a major manufacturing, logistics and electric vehicle hub.
New global parts centre to strengthen supply chain
The upcoming Global Parts Centre will serve as a strategic hub for the company’s spare parts operations in India and overseas markets. Hero MotoCorp said the investment is part of a long-term roadmap aimed at enhancing manufacturing capabilities and supporting future business growth.
The company also highlighted that its entire electric vehicle portfolio is designed, engineered and manufactured at its Tirupati plant. With the latest expansion, the plant’s annual production capacity is expected to increase to between 1.2 million and 1.5 million units, reinforcing its position as one of India’s leading centres for future mobility.
Andhra Pradesh welcomes the investment
Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu described Hero MotoCorp as a valued partner in the state’s industrial growth.
He said the investment reflects Andhra Pradesh’s investor-friendly policies, strong infrastructure and commitment to creating a business-friendly environment. According to the Chief Minister, the project will generate employment, strengthen local supply chains and accelerate industrial development across the Rayalaseema region.
He added that the expansion would further establish Tirupati as an important manufacturing, logistics and mobility hub while creating new opportunities for young people in the state.
Tribute to founder Brijmohan Lall Munjal
Hero MotoCorp Executive Chairman Dr. Pawan Munjal said the project reflects the company’s belief that business growth and nation building go hand in hand.
He noted that the new Global Parts Centre is being launched on the 103rd birth anniversary of the company’s Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal. Calling it a tribute to his father’s vision, Pawan Munjal said the facility represents Hero MotoCorp’s continued commitment to innovation, sustainability and the “Made in India, for India and the World” philosophy.
Around 4,000 jobs expected
The expansion is expected to create around 4,000 employment opportunities, contributing to both the Central Government’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision and the Andhra Pradesh Government’s SwarnAndhra development plan.
Apart from direct employment, the company believes the Global Parts Centre will generate wider economic benefits by supporting local businesses, suppliers and related industries.
Focus on education and community development
Alongside the investment announcement, Hero MotoCorp also introduced two community initiatives in partnership with the Andhra Pradesh Government.
The company launched the Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal Heroes of Tomorrow Scholarship, which will provide full tuition support to meritorious engineering students studying at state IIITs across 28 districts.
In another initiative aimed at promoting sustainable mobility and community safety, Hero MotoCorp will provide VIDA electric scooters to women police personnel in Tirupati and conduct specialised road safety training programmes.
With this large-scale investment, Hero MotoCorp is not only expanding its manufacturing footprint but also strengthening its role in India’s growing electric mobility ecosystem while contributing to regional development, employment and skill creation.
