Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) suffered another blow as they lost their fourth match of IPL 2025, this time to Gujarat Titans (GT). The encounter, played on April 6, saw Hyderabad crash during their chase, giving Gujarat a crucial win to revive their season.

Gujarat Titans fight back with grit

Batting first, Gujarat Titans posted a modest total of 149/6 in 20 overs. The pitch offered bounce and grip, making strokeplay difficult. Despite losing early wickets, key contributions came from the middle order. Though no single batter went big, their partnerships helped Gujarat build a fighting score.

Hyderabad’s bowlers were economical. Pat Cummins and Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck early, keeping pressure on the Titans throughout the innings.

Sunrisers Hyderabad collapse under pressure

In reply, SRH never looked settled. Their innings fell apart early, with the top order failing to fire. Wickets tumbled at regular intervals, and the team looked out of rhythm throughout the chase. They were bowled out for just 129 runs, handing Gujarat a 20-run victory.

Mohit Sharma steals the show

Veteran pacer Mohit Sharma turned out to be the star of the match. He grabbed 3 wickets and kept the pressure on with tight lines and clever variations. His spell was crucial in derailing SRH’s chase.

SRH struggles continue

This loss marks the fourth defeat for Hyderabad in five matches. Their batting inconsistency and middle-order failures have raised concerns. They now sit lower on the points table, needing a turnaround soon to stay in the playoff race.

Gujarat finds momentum

Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, will take confidence from this win. Their bowling depth and composure under pressure stood out. With this performance, they move closer to mid-table and will look to build momentum in upcoming matches.
